Hamburg Farmers' Market History
Meet me at the Market... Hamburg Farmers’ Market!

The Hamburg Farmers’ Market has been a Hamburg community tradition for nearly thirty years. Since its beginning in 1977, the Hamburg Farmers’ Market has featured home-grown products from local farmers including seasonal produce, farm fresh eggs, home-made baked goods, honey, cheese, flowers, plants, shrubs, and much more.
Through the years, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce which runs the Hamburg Farmers’ Market, has made great strides to attract a new generation of customers. Updated advertising and the tag line, "Meet me at the Market" were rolled out in order to make the market a destination every Saturday morning where one can meet their friends and neighbors and enjoy the sights and smells of the outdoor venue.

The Hamburg Farmers’ Market dedicated a sign to the memory of Lee J. Benz, past President of Benz-Sardinia Insurance Agency. Benz, who was also a past Chamber President was one of the founding fathers of the market. The sign was unveiled during a special ribbon cutting ceremony that officially opened the market season on Saturday, May 13, 2006.
The Hamburg Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM from the first weekend in May through November 6, 2010 and is located in the Hamburg Village Parking Lot. Entrances to the market are on both Main & Union Streets. For more information, please contact the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce at 716-649-7917.
