Route 62 Construction Guide

Route 62 Construction Update
for week of July 21st

The Route 62 & 391 Reconstruction is continuing at a brisk pace. Work is being done along Main as well as along Buffalo St. as well as along Main St. and the Centennial Park overlook.

Signalized intersections have been eliminated along Main Street and roundabouts at Main & Buffalo Streets and Main & Center Streets are functioning. Please watch for and yield to pedestrians at the cross walks; also PLEASE observe the 15 MPH speed as you approach and travel thru the roundabout and PLEASE, use your directional signal lights so pedestrians will understand your intentions!

Also, be advised that the Village is working with the NYS DOT engineers and traffic and safety personnel, in preparing educational materials to be presented at a public forum later this summer or early this fall. Time and place to be announced

NOTE: Signs have been posted and traffic is now limited to one way southbound along Buffalo St. from Elizabeth/Pine to Main St.

That portion of Buffalo St., between Main and Prospect Ave., now provides us a glimpse of the extent of improvements to sidewalks, curbs and pavement.

The major reconstruction effort for that section of Buffalo Street, from Main to Legion-Clark, is continuing. The old pavement has been torn out, new storm drains and structures have been installed, together with new curbs, pavement, sidewalks and driveways along the East side of the street between Main and Prospect.

Work is continuing at the intersection of Buffalo St. and Prospect Ave., where the new Roundabout is taking shape in its final form.

Installation of new concrete curbs and sidewalks will cause additional inconveniences. Access to driveways will be limited for a week to allow concrete to cure.

Work along Legion and Clark involves grading and pavement base course in preparation for final realignment of this intersection and closing of Clark Street at Buffalo Street.

Landscaping and Lighting work is continuing at the Centennial Park overlook and at the Main St. roundabouts.

The Electric Co. and Telephone Co. are also working along Buffalo St. between Prospect and Legion and Clark Streets moving equipment prior to road reconstruction.
