Welcome to "The Town That Friendship Built"!

Welcome to our historic Hamburg communities, including the Town of Hamburg and the villages of Blasdell and Hamburg.  From our beautiful Lake Erie sunsets and beaches to public and private golf courses; quaint village shops to a full service retail corridor; the Fairgrounds, Penn-Dixie Site plus bike paths, parks and everything in between- Hamburg has something for everyone!

Our close proximity to world-renowned Niagara Falls, Canada, medal-winning wineries, and top tier restaurants all lend to Hamburg's reputation as 'the center of it all'.  The Woodlawn Beach State Park is the place to be for nature lovers and outdoorsmen as it provides year round beaches (with lifeguards in the summer months), large rental pavilion, and new Adventure Day Camp for the little ones. Hamburg also hosts the annual Erie County Fair – one of the largest county fairs in New York state as well as the country.  This ten-day event is great family fun and features great food, rides and attractions for all to enjoy. To enjoy the fun all year round, head to The Fairgrounds, which is home to the Hamburg Casino and the Buffalo Raceway.  Managed by the Erie County Agricultural Society, these venues specialize in grandstand entertainment and rides, over 950 slot machines, live concerts and shows, award-winning restaurants, and premier live harness tracks and racing.  These spectacular venues are truly a showcase to behold!

Hamburg's very active community organizations aim to make Hamburg a better place for all those who live, work, and visit the area to enjoy.  Spring, summer, and autumn alike – our many volunteer groups host a variety of unique events that appeal to folks of all age groups.  In the summer months, the Village of Hamburg offers self -guided historic walking tours. In addition the Village of Hamburg supports is the annual Garden Walk, which is proud to be a participant in the National Garden Festival.  Also, on the third Saturday in July, Hamburg celebrates the birthplace of the hamburger with its annual tribute to the American classic during "Burgerfest".  Even during the chilly winter months, Hamburg boasts winter festivals, the Hamburg Town Arena/Ice Rink, and a wealth of entertainment and nightlife.  From the first Saturday in May through the first Saturday in November, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce hosts the Hamburg Farmers' Market.  Young and old alike come to the market to shop for fresh local produce, flowers, meats, eggs, cheeses and homemade baked goods from our regional vendors and merchants.  It truly is the friendliness of our businesses and residents, plus the charm and diversity of the community that makes Hamburg so special.

Residents know the Chamber is "the connection" to businesses and community activities, both locally and throughout the region.  As a visitor coming from out of town, let the Chamber be your ultimate guide to Hamburg.  We offer business referrals, area information, and have our finger on the pulse of the community.  Please feel free to call us at 716-649-7917 so we can provide you with a wide - variety of area information.  You are also welcome to stop in for assistance at our office at 6122 South Park Avenue, between Town Hall and Tops Friendly Market.  We are open Monday- Friday from 9 AM – 5 PM.
